This year, AMBS’s Intercultural Competence and Undoing Racism (ICUR) team brought a little frankincense and “BRRRR!” to its annual International Student Lunch to mark the Christmas season and the close of Semester One. Not wanting to cancel the event due to the pandemic, the team instead hosted a COVID-aware celebration that involved special meals for international students and their families from Cambodian Thai in South Bend, Indiana, and Leo’s Mexican Restaurant in Elkhart, Indiana, and vegan dessert from The Black Crow Cafe in Elkhart.

On Monday, Dec. 14, students came to the firepit on campus to pick up their lunches. They also received an ornament from Ten Thousand Villages and a personalized greeting card. After the food pickup, there was a time of fellowship via videoconference.
