ELKHART, Indiana (Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary) — Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary (AMBS) in Elkhart, Indiana, is offering eight distance-friendly courses as well as 14 in-person courses on campus this coming semester. Courses meeting in person will follow COVID-safe protocols.
Semester One runs Aug. 31 – Dec. 10; tuition is due Aug. 23. The following courses do not have prerequisites and are open to nonadmitted students:
- Online courses include Beginning Hebrew: Ruth; History of Christianity in Africa; Human Development and Christian Formation; and Strange New World of the Bible 1. Students can do the weekly online coursework for these courses on their own schedule.
- Blended/campus courses include Earthkeeping; Faith Formation and Spirituality: Youth and Young Adults; Luke-Acts: Gospeling Peace Amid Empire; and Witness Colloquium. Students can join these campus courses in person at AMBS or via live videoconference from a distance during posted class times.
- Campus courses include Beginning Greek: 1 John; Christian Attitudes Toward War, Peace and Revolution; Christian Theology 1; God’s Shalom and the Church’s Witness; Human Development and Christian Formation; Introduction to Bible Study Tools; Introduction to Peace Studies and Nonviolence; Preaching; Somatic Spiritual Practices (Aug. 31 – Oct. 12 only); and Strange New World of the Bible 1. These courses require in-person attendance on campus during posted class times.
Students who are not admitted students at AMBS and are not enrolled at another seminary, college or university get 50 percent off regular tuition rates on their first AMBS course for credit. Some courses may be open to auditors.
