Retired Professor of Theology and Anabaptist Studies

Through his work as a chaplain, as a pastor and with Mennonite Central Committee's (MCC) advocacy with the United Nations, John Rempel has been on the frontier of the church. From 1991 until he joined the AMBS faculty, John served as MCC liaison to the United Nations in New York City. He was pastor of Manhattan (New York) Mennonite Fellowship from 1989 to 2000, and was ordained in Mennonite Church Eastern Canada in 1982. John served on the worship committee for Hymnal: A Worship Book and as editor of the Minister's Manual used in Mennonite Church Canada and Mennonite Church USA.
